Delete your Nokoru account

In short. You can delete your Nokoru account yourself, from inside the Nokoru app: Settings → Delete account. Nothing is destroyed straight away — the deletion becomes permanent 30 days after you ask for it, and signing back in during those 30 days cancels it.

1. Delete your account in the app

Open the Nokoru app and sign in to the account you want to delete.
Go to Settings → Delete account.
Confirm the deletion when the app asks you to.

Requesting deletion signs you out of Nokoru on every device. The same option is available wherever you are signed in to Nokoru on the web.

If you want a copy of your data first, request a data export in the app before you delete. The download we prepare stays available for 14 days.

2. If you cannot get into your account

Email [email protected] from the email address associated with your Nokoru account and ask us to delete it.

We may need to ask for proportionate information to verify your identity and locate the right records. We normally respond within one month.

3. The 30-day grace period

When you request deletion, your account is marked for deletion and nothing is destroyed yet. For 30 days, simply signing back in cancels the deletion and restores your account and content exactly as they were.

After 30 days the deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed, by you or by us.

4. What we delete

Once the 30 days have passed, we permanently delete:

your sign-in identity and account details — including your name, email address, profile photo and any mobile number you verified on the account;
the albums you created, including every photo and video in them and the earlier stored versions of those files;
your access to albums that other people shared with you (those books belong to their creators and are not deleted);
your connections and connection requests, and gift-access claim requests you made or received; and
any data export we had prepared for you.

Deletion is permanent for the content your account owns. A printed Nokoru book whose videos have been deleted will no longer play them. A book you own survives your account deletion only if you deliberately transfer its ownership to another Nokoru user beforehand.

5. What we keep, and for how long

Some information cannot simply be erased, either because we are required to keep it or because it no longer identifies you once your details are removed.

Information	What happens to it
Orders, payments, invoices and refunds	Kept as financial and accounting records for around six years. When your account is deleted we remove your name, delivery address and contact details from them; what remains — amounts, dates, item and order references — does not identify you.
Content-moderation records	Where a report has been made about or by your account, we keep an anonymised record as a moderation audit trail.
Routine backup copies	Residual copies in routine backups roll off within 30 days of deletion.
Anything the law requires	We may keep limited information for longer where we must for legal, regulatory, fraud-prevention, accounting or dispute-resolution purposes, or while a dispute or investigation is open.
